TWENTY TEN

Thu Dec 31, 2009, 6:04 PM
Screw 2009. That is all I have to say.

By now, I have fully recovered from my condition of internal injury-related deterioration and shot death and injury in the face with PURE VIGOR AND MIGHT (a bit late on this, since I've recovered for a little while, but was too busy to make an update) I could not have done it without the moral support of every single person out there who wished my well being, whether they thought it, or directly said it. Yah! Thank you everyone once again!

In the meanwhile, I have been drawing, studying, and painting like a madman for my portfolio, but I don't intend on posting things until later.. perhaps. I also want to jump back into VOID sometime and get active again.

I will make 2010 the best of the best, because that is also when I finally graduate High School and get ready to tough it out on my own.

Here's my resolutions.
-Get admitted to all of the Colleges/Universities I've applied for. [fuck highschool forever.]
-Go to Wizard World 2010, or meet a VOIDer or two.
-Write more substantially in comics.
-Improve illegible penmanship.
-Develop painting/inking/drawing style to be the way I expect it to be, continue experimenting.
-Get a new character into VOID or just fight more.
-Make a finished animation.
-Study naturalistic principles and technicalities harder.
-Gain weight/start a work out routine.
-Speak up more. [yeah right.]

What's your resolutions, guys?

Thank You

I didn't get a chance to reply to every single one of your comments individually on the last entry, but I have read all of them. I was surprised because there were a few people that commented whom I don't recognize, or haven't spoken to before, but they were all the same wishing me the best and for my recovery. I also would like to give my thanks to those who have been contacting me over IM or Facebook to send me get well wishes or keep in touch.

The best news of all is that I did not need to get the operation after the period of time where I had to be put on standby for the decision.

Ever since the day they told me I didn't need it, I have been recovering gradually. Knowing that I'd be able to live on without those body-altering procedures hasn't felt so nice before.

Right now, I still have internal bleeding going on after these almost 3 weeks of fighting to live, but the amount of blood loss has decreased significantly, as well as the pains in my abdomen, and I'm continuing to function as a human being in my rather jagged fixture of life.

Thanks everyone, for your considerate words. They really mean alot to me.

Future

Tue Nov 17, 2009, 7:31 PM
In case this has not made it to the ears of those who were watching me on dA, I have been recently diagnosed with a rather harsh internal bleeding condition with a 30% chance of dying if organ failure occurs (from Doctor's words). Where did it come from? I didn't even get into any sort of physical fight. It just turned out to be high volumes of stress that caused this, and this is what it can do to you, if you come from a family with high blood pressure. I never considered my physical body particularly fragile, because I've never treated it particularly well, nor do external circumstances, but this is just rather heavy.

The treatment I may end up receiving is surgery to repair the damage, if my bursted vessel does not heal completely within the next few days. The operation actually has a moderate amount of risk to it, too, disregarding the price of it all together, and I really don't want it to have to come to that.

30% chance of death is by no means overly high, but it is high enough to be concerned, and probably the closest to death I've ever been with some conscious decision lingering within the situation. The only other two times I've come close to death is when I nearly got hit by a bus in China or the time I nearly broke my neck (but instead, muscle tissue and not spinal cord was wrecked) in an acrobatic snowboarding accident.

I've been in so much indescribable pain in recent times. As the bleeding is located in my abdomen region, my digestive tract is been giving me hell every time food makes it to there and out the other end- I've been feeling alot of fatigue, near-fainting experiences, been crapping out blood, and excess dehydration.

I'm taking care of myself, and drinking, and taking it easy, though.

I consider myself very lucky. I've accomplished alot of things, and so many people care for me, it would be extremely selfish if I just gave up on my life because I would affect others, even though part of me would honestly not regret submitting to eternal sleep. The other half of me is trying to slap that with iron fists screaming at me that I have a promising and bright future ahead of me that hasn't arrived merely because I'm just not at that point yet and I'm not quite done with High School.

17 years may not be a particularly long span of time to live, but many stressful things have been happening to me in many shapes and forms, and it's far too hectic to sum up in any way. I can honestly say to other people I've probably experienced more than I've needed or ever wanted than the average teenager at this age in my lifetime, and for that, it would only be all the more unfortunate to pass away.

I really want to go to an art college. I've narrowed down my Undergraduate major selections to this, and in order of top to lower priority: Entertainment Design, Animation, Illustration.

If I fail at that, I'll just try being a doctor, and save other people's lives, lol.

10 FREE sketches, GET EM [6 done]

Fri Oct 9, 2009, 5:01 PM
EDIT: Get 'em while slots are still available!! Spaces automatically reserved for people that I have requested free sketches from even if 10 limit has been reached.

EDIT2: Well, I'll add people even if it leaks above ten, whatever. I want to see how far i can go with all this.

I think I'll try to give this another attempt; the one I did last time failed because the sketches in question for the most part, did not look good and I tossed 'em.

Anyways, I have been noticing this 10 sketches trend going on around amongst the people I watch, and I think I feel up to whipping up some quick ones for some practice later on. Quick little doodles.
If this is of a character, provide most updated image ref, or at least a detailed description. If this is of a broader open-interpretation subject matter, that's cool too.

Nuts!

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 8, 2009, 2:46 PM

I have lost the process of writing this journal entry twice when I've gotten most of it written, this is pretty ridiculous! I'll just summarize things from what I remember.

June has been a slow and relatively unproductive month in terms of art, I've been experimenting mostly with style, inks, and 2D animation on my own but hardly any polished pieces. At least I got sleep and relaxation in. I've lost my machine-like work ethic for comics as lieu of spending alot of my time playing with my brother and my puppy, whom both require alot of attention from me. It's surprising how much two factors can play in disruptive interference to break your concentration from focusing on comics and artwork.

All I plan to finish this month in July is this comic fight with Spaceninja.

It has been postponed since March and I am working on the 3rd (and goddamned final) rendition of it (meaning I've already started over twice.) I promised myself not to accept any more battle deadlines that are 2 weeks and over, because working on long battles give me neurotic aneurysms and I simply am incompetent with them. I hope to be battling more frequently in VOID with the shorter deadlines, even if it does somewhat limit my choice of opponents.

There have also been complications in traveling overseas to China, so I may not go for the job until later this summer. My SAT testing scores came in. It turns out I got 2100 with percentiles that are all above 90% for each section. I can get into Ivy League schools like Harvard with such a score, but my GPA and extra-curriculum involvement record blows too much ass so forget about that. gahahahahah.

It also turns out I cannot make it to San Diego Comic Con. It's highly disappointing because I was looking forward to meeting ~galvo (who had encouraged me to come and prepare myself works to show big timers) and ~JongBom (and any other attending VOIDers of the area) in person. I'll have to try again next year. There's also still the possibility of Wizard World Chicago to see VOID folk in person.

That's all I can think about as far as updates on life. Maybe I'll post some deviations soon if i ever finish anything.

As a final testament to my dying subscription, which should expire very soon- Thanks again *Jaxomatik for spending your money on me! I didn't utilize it as much as I would have liked because some of the features didn't work very well, but browsing on dA has been easier when I had it, and some of the other personalization features were pretty cool.

I will quickly make some last minute use some of the other subscriber journal features however, and advertise my good friend and rival:

:iconzsabreuser:'s ZUDA entry, Rockstar

in the monthly competition. Get an account, log in, vote for it, give it 5 stars, add it to your faves. It'll be way appreciated. HE HAS TO WIN.
